Lismore City Council
An illustrated Art & Culture Trail for a creative city.
Lismore's arts and culture scene, spanning galleries, theatres, murals, laneways and studios across the city and out to Nimbin and the wider Northern Rivers, needed a way to be seen as a destination in its own right.
Visit Lismore needed a single tool that could work two ways: a takeaway piece visitors could carry around town, and a way to sell the region's creative identity to people who hadn't arrived yet.
Studio Troppo illustrated a map of Lismore's arts and culture precinct, drawing every featured building and venue individually rather than using generic icons, so the map reads as a piece of art in its own right, not just a directory. Every colour and typographic choice was built inside Lismore City Council's existing style guide, and the studio liaised directly with the printer through proofing to get the fold-out brochure's colour and finish right at production scale. The same illustrated map was then adapted for a second life: reworked and enlarged for a permanent wall installation in the local library, giving residents and visitors a static, always-available version of the same trail.
